The Radio Spectral Index and Expansion of 3 C 58

چکیده
We present new observations of the plerionic supernova remnant 3C 58 with the VLA at 74 and 327 MHz. In addition, we re-reduced earlier observations at 1.4 and 4.9 GHz taken in 1973 and 1984. Comparing these various images, we Ðnd that (1) the remnant has a Ñat and relatively uniform spectral-index distribution, (2) any expansion of the remnant with time is signiÐcantly less than that expected for uniform, undecelerated expansion since the generally accepted explosion date in 1181 A.D., and (3) there is no evidence for a nonthermal synchrotron-emission shell generated by a supernova shock wave, with any such emission having a surface brightness of less than 1 ] 10~21 W m~2 Hz~1 sr~1 at 327 MHz. Eigenfunction expansion in the singular case for q-Sturm-Liouville operators
In this work, we prove the existence of a spectral function for singular q-Sturm-Liouville operator. Further, we establish a Parseval equality and expansion formula in eigenfunctions by terms of the spectral function.
متن کاملA Full-Duplex, Dual-Polarization 10Gbps Radio over Fiber system with wavelength reuse for upstream signal
This study presents a full-duplex Radio-over-Fiber (RoF) system providing the users' wireless access with a bit rate of 10 Gbps over 40 GHz radio carrier. This system can be used in a centralized radio access network (C-RAN) architecture because we provide a fully analog front haul link between central station and base station. We can consider it as infrastructure between remote radio heads (RR...
متن کاملThe Expansion and Radio Spectral Index of G21.5–0.9: Is PSR J1833−1034 the Youngest Pulsar?
We report on new 5-GHz VLA radio observations of the pulsar-powered supernova remnant G21.5−0.9. These observations have allowed us to make a high-quality radio image of this remnant with a resolution of ∼0.7. It has a filamentary structure similar to that seen in the Crab Nebula. Radio structure suggestive of the torus seen around the Crab pulsar is tentatively identified. We also compared the...
متن کاملRadio Images of 3c 58: Expansion and Motion of Its Wisp
New 1.4 GHz VLA observations of the pulsar-powered supernova remnant 3C 58 have resulted in the highest-quality radio images of this object to date. The images show filamentary structure over the body of the nebula. The present observations were combined with earlier ones from 1984 and 1991 to investigate the variability of the radio emission on a variety of time-scales. No significant changes ...
متن کاملRadio-to-FIR Spectral Energy Distribution and Photometric Redshifts for Dusty Starburst Galaxies
As a logical next step in improving the radio-to-submm spectral index as a redshift indicator (Carilli & Yun), we have investigated a technique of using the entire radio-to-FIR spectral energy distribution (SED) for deriving photometric redshifts for dusty starburst galaxies at high redshift. A dusty starburst SED template is developed from theoretical understanding on various emission mechanis...
